Expedition Information

Get ready for an extraordinary experience crafted specifically for LDS singles who feel called to serve, connect, and grow in meaningful ways. This expedition goes far beyond travel—it invites you to step into the heart of a community, learn from its people, and experience firsthand what thoughtful, Christlike service looks like on a global scale. As you work shoulder to shoulder with fellow Latter-day Saint singles, you’ll deepen your appreciation for diverse cultures, strengthen your commitment to lifting others, and discover new dimensions of what it means to be a disciple, a neighbor, and a force for good in the world.

Project Information

The service you offer will be woven into a sustainable, locally guided initiative chosen by the community itself—real needs identified by real people. Whether you’ve spent years volunteering or this is your first time stepping into humanitarian work, you’ll find purposeful, accessible ways to make a genuine impact.

Your experience could include helping raise the walls of a new community building, strengthening local tourism pathways that support families, empowering women through leadership and entrepreneurship workshops, or assisting with agricultural training that helps communities grow food sustainably. Whatever the project, you’ll be part of something lasting—service that uplifts dignity, strengthens self-reliance, and reflects the very heart of why we go and why we serve.

Cultural Exchange

One of the most meaningful parts of this expedition is the genuine cultural exchange that unfolds naturally as we connect with local families and community members. Together, you’ll share stories, perspectives, and traditions that open your heart to new ways of seeing the world. These sincere, human-to-human moments build bridges of understanding, spark deep empathy, and cultivate the kind of open-mindedness that strengthens both faith and friendship—reminding us how beautifully connected we truly are.

Ethical & Sustainable Service

These projects are guided and carried out by experienced local leaders who work hand in hand with their own communities to identify real needs and design meaningful solutions. Because each initiative grows from local priorities—not outside assumptions—they address root causes rather than temporary symptoms, creating change that is lasting, empowering, and deeply respected.

By joining this effort, your service becomes part of something far bigger than a single trip. You’re contributing to long-term progress that strengthens self-reliance, supports dignity, and helps communities break cycles of poverty in sustainable, impactful ways.

Participants should plan to arrive at Aeropuerto Mariscal Sucre (UIO) at any time on Day 1.

Upon arrival, group transportation will be provided to the hotel for an overnight stay in Quito’s historic colonial center.

Quito, Ecuador’s second-largest city and the world’s highest capital at 9,350 feet above sea level, has a rich history shaped by centuries of Indigenous civilizations and significant battles before the city was formally founded in 1534.

A group dinner will be arranged to review trip details with the local team and to meet fellow participants.

Day 2 – Sunday - July 12, 2026 - Travel To Project Community

Participants will begin the day with a guided tour of Quito before traveling to the village. Along the way, a visit to La Mitad del Mundo offers the chance to stand directly on the equator.

Lunch will be provided. Upon arrival, participants will be warmly welcomed by community residents.

Time will be available to unpack, rest, meet host families, and start project activities. An orientation dinner will be served, and camping-style group accommodations will be arranged in a local schoolhouse or community center.

Cultural activities and opportunities for meaningful interaction with community members will be offered to foster strong intercultural exchange.
